🐈⬛ boop – Holiday Bumpfest
⭐ 10/10
Players: 2
Playtime: 20–30 min
Difficulty: Light / Tactical
Game Type: Abstract / Logical / Family

🎯 What is this game about?
boop is one of those games that proves how much magic can grow out of the simplest ideas. You get a soft, mattress-like board, a whole bunch of kittens, and one wonderfully elegant rule:every kitten you place pushes adjacent pieces by one space. That’s it. And at the same time — it’s everything.
From this one rule grows a game that’s tactical, mischievous, and endlessly satisfying. And once you spot the tiny black cat that looks like a pocket-sized Totoro… you’re gone.
🐱 How does boop work?
You begin with kittens — tiny, light, chaotic creatures. Each one creates a ripple across the board: pieces bounce, slide, shift, and sometimes — completely by accident — fall into brilliant new arrangements. And suddenly, this adorable kitten game…
turns into a miniature chess match on a springy mattress.
The best moment? When you line up three kittens in a row. Poof. They evolve into adult cats — sturdier, smarter, and opening entirely new tactical possibilities.
A bit like life: they grow up before you notice… and then start doing the real work.
🎄 The holiday version: chaos among the ornaments
Holiday boop adds ornaments you can drop, steal, knock down levels, or use for the cheekiest maneuvers a Christmas tree has ever seen. The board becomes a stylized tree. Kittens climb tiers, ornaments fall, and suddenly… you have more than one way to win. Sounds sweet? Of course. But it’s sweetness in the cat sense: they purr lovingly… and then casually knock over your entire plan with one paw.
And there’s one more detail that makes Holiday boop melt your heart: the white cat looks like a tiny Moomin, and the black one is a holiday Totoro. When you see them together, you just know it’s going to be a good game.
🧩 Why I love this game
✨ A simple idea, so many emotions — one move can flip the entire game upside down.
✨ Every decision matters — predicting your opponent is half the fun.
✨ Cats with real personality — bouncy kittens and proud adult cats create a brilliant tactical rhythm.
✨ Endless replayability — every game looks different, every time you discover new ways to outsmart (or out-boop).
✨ The holiday version adds pure charm — ornaments, tree levels, tiny dramas… the perfect mix of chaos and coziness.
💀 Why it’s not perfect
Honestly? boop is so intuitive and light that there’s very little to critique.
The only real danger is telling yourself “just one quick game”… and suddenly it’s midnight and you’re still booping kittens across the mattress. Other than that —
I truly have nothing to complain about.
✨🧀🍞 Cheesy Joke Corner 😄
Your mother-in-law starts the holiday greatest hits: “So, a partner?” “A baby?” “Did you go to church?”And you, warmly but with a spark in your eye:
“Dear Mum, instead of pushing about my life choices,
let’s push some kittens on the board!
It’ll be much more fun — and you’ll definitely win.” 🐈⬛✨
☕ My impressions
boop is a game that makes your heart smile. As simple as a cat’s grin, as clever as its midnight escapades, and surprisingly deep. It delivers warmth, lightness, and wonderfully crafted tactical tension. It’s one of those rare games where, the moment you finish, you immediately want to play again —because it’s simply too good for just one round.
🎯 Final Score: 10/10
Subtle, tactical, endlessly replayable, and full of charm. It has that rare blend of simplicity and magic that makes your heart soften — without asking for permission.
